If you want to make a statement with your yard and garden, consider decorating your potted plants in a decorative pocket garden design. Pots are often placed in containers and have tiny little roots and branches that can grow into all types of plants. Whether or not your plants are edible or you just simply just want to create a little shade, a potted plant is always a great addition to any home. With just a few simple steps, you can create an attractive space for your little plants to grow in and enjoy.
The first thing that you want to do is take out all of the plants from the pot and break them up so that you can get them into small pieces. Then, take one piece and tie it up with string or a sturdy piece of string. It does not have to be long; one inch will do fine. Then, take that piece and tie it onto the soil so that the soil stays attached to the soil in that area.
After the string is tied onto the soil, then you will want to rake the soil around the plants to loosen it up. Make sure that you rake the soil thoroughly so that you do not have soil sticking to the plants. You will want to rinse the dirt off of the plants and let them dry completely before putting them back into the pot. Be careful that you don’t allow the soil to get too wet because if it does, then you might have to remove all of the pots.
If you have potted plants in a hanging pot, you can choose to use either a plastic basket or something that resembles a wicker basket. Make sure that the basket is hanging properly so that it does not fall over. You may also want to place some water inside so that the water will stay on the inside of the basket. This will prevent water from dripping down and potentially causing mold in your yard.
If you have a trellis, then make sure that it is stable. The last thing you want to do is have the plant falling off of the trellis because that is not good for anything. Once you have secured it to the ground, then you can now take out the pot and add some dirt to cover the roots and other plant pieces. In order to protect the plant from insects, you can wrap the plastic around the base of the pot so that no insects will be able to climb over the pot or dig under the plastic.
Once the dirt is placed on top of the soil, then you can begin to plant your potted plants. Just make sure that you do not over water the plant since this will cause the dirt to rot and the plants will become unhealthy.
